Scientific and technical cooperation signed on 23.04.2021 between the Livestock Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Eastern Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Turkey. According to the agreement, an online meeting was held between the two institutions to discuss in detail the projects to be implemented jointly, the scientific-practical events to be organized, the academic exchange programs, the scientific-research works to be conducted jointly and their direction. At the meeting, Eldar Hasanov, head of the Department of "Organization and Monitoring of Livestock" of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mahir Hajiyev, director of the Animal Husbandry Scientific Research Institute, Aida Asgarova, deputy director of the institute for scientific affairs, Aytan Aliyeva, head of the "Information provision and application of scientific results" department, International Food and Agriculture Anar Ilyasov and Orkhan Nadirov, employees of the Representative Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Azerbaijan, Abdullah Chil, head of the Eastern Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Turkey, and his deputy, Ibrahim Cerit, participated. At the meeting, a discussion was held on the cooperation between the Animal Husbandry Scientific Research Institute and the scientific research institutes of Turkey, the implemented projects, and the exchange of experience. It was noted that due to the current pandemic situation, joint scientific research works and projects have been stopped, but after the end of the pandemic situation, the work will continue from where it left off.
During the meeting, after the end of the pandemic situation, a broad idea of inviting specialists from the Eastern Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute to the Livestock Research Institute, implementing the embryo transfer project, carrying out breeding and selection works, and conducting joint work to form the Livestock Research Institute as a genetic center was discussed. were exchanged and agreements were reached.
