On April 16, 2021, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Institute of Zoology hosted a webinar called "Avian flu threat in Azerbaijan: infection centers and preventive measures". In addition to the employees of ANAS Institute of Zoology, specialists from other institutes of ANAS, research institutes of the Ministry of Agriculture, Azerbaijan State Agrarian University, and Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency participated in the webinar. Experts participating in the webinar discussed bird flu, its types and causes, factors involved in its spread, as well as the area of spread, the pandemic situation that the virus can cause, the preventive measures taken to fight the virus, the work done in this outbreak, the existing preventive methods, etc. presented extensive slide materials and reports on the topics.
It should be noted that the director of the Scientific Research Institute of Animal Husbandry, Mahir Hajiyev, the institute's deputy director for scientific affairs, Aida Asgarova, the head of the institute's "Analysis of feeding, fodder and feed additives" laboratory, Zohrab Suleymanov, the head of the "Genetic research and biotechnological methods" laboratory, Yasin Gozalov, attended the webinar. and Zahid Taghiyev, a junior researcher at the "Analysis of feeding, feeds and feed additives" laboratory, also participated.
