On August 24-28, 2022, the 47th Congress of the International Federation of Beekeeping Associations (APIMONDIA) was held in Istanbul, Turkey. At the event, our country was represented by 22 members of the Beekeeping Association, the Union of Professional Beekeepers. In addition to beekeepers, 161 participants from 44 countries of the world, including experts, entrepreneurs, technicians and officials, attended the congress. At the congress, discussions were held on the development of beekeeping, an exhibition of beekeeping products was held, and a competition of produced bee products was organized.
At the exhibition, Azerbaijani beekeepers demonstrated their products in the national pavilion, and the visitors were given extensive information about the Bozdag Caucasian bee, which is the gene pool of Azerbaijan, as well as state support for the development of beekeeping. In the pavilion, visitors were presented with the taste, aroma and peculiarities of Azerbaijani honey, as well as samples of honey.
In accordance with the strategy of APIMONDIA, the countries participating in the congress participated in the competition by submitting their products to the competition. Beekeeping products produced in Azerbaijan were also submitted to the competition. In the competition, the scores were evaluated by a jury of 42 people selected from 7 countries. Honey's naturalness, quality, moisture, origin, presence of antibiotics and other residues were checked, appearance, taste, smell, aroma were evaluated.
The "Kinyatogullari" company, which won 5 medals including 1st and 2nd place in the honey competition at the VII Azerbaijan Beekeeping Conference, this time took the 3rd place in the world and was awarded a bronze medal.
